Text Message icon and notifications gone after I uninstalled Handcent SMS. I have been unable to find anything online in regards to this issue. Any ideas on how to resolve this? Also be wary of removing this application, FYI.

Thanks for any assistance or advice!

Just go into SMS application and go to settings and it will give you options for notifications. No fault on Handcent's side.

Thanks for the advice Szadzik. When you refer to "go into SMS application" I'm assuming you're referring to Settings > Applications > SMS > Settings?

If so this SMS application is no longer there, and I'm positive I didn't delete it as the only app I've ever uninstalled so far is the Handcent SMS.

Is there a way to get this default SMS app or the files associated with it?

Thanks again!

I am referring to Messaging in the app drawer. When you open it, press the options button and go to Settings. You will find Notification Settings there.
