was great becuase the battery from eris (including extended one) fit in the back so i have three batteries....which i have found is the best answer for battery issues, particularly in a pinch.

Also the change from spleeping with the phone phone hang up button (eris) to this version (top) is a dramatic improvement. I used to hang up on so many calls because the eris would sleep on a call and i went to revive it with that button and it would hang up...

the google navigation is really great too. bigger screen is great and the voice to text is great.

my only real misses are slingplayer and audible support (converting audible files to mp3s can get a bit tedious)....and a good hp 12c calculator.

Is Google Nav already loaded? Or do you have to download it?

This is my first smartphone (got it on launch day) and I "still" smile when I look at it. Love it!!

Same here.. well first one I'm taking advantage of the full features. In the past I've had phones that had the capabilities but never paid for the dataplan.

Its kind of a double-edged sword though... as much as I love the phone... I can no longer see myself going back to ordinary cell phones.

have been struggling with the Eris for a year. I thought my issue was Android (coming from iphone), but it looks like a lot of my problems were due to slowness of the Eris. Incredible is a huge improvement in performance.

I think that thought has hurt Android, although it is beginning to recover nicely. Early on, manufacturers were throwing it on cheap components, which made me concerned it would go the way of WinMobile. Total control of software and hardware was part of the reason for iPhone's success. Now w/ the best hardware getting Android, it's time for it to take over the world.
