Facebook chat on Meebo problem

I can't log into FB chat on Meebo...It says "chat permission required"

Have the same issue with no help here nor anywhere else. At least none that I could find. Meebo also logs into my aim and it shows no buddies online, meanwhile, there are, so I'm not sure what's going on with it.

I'm having a similar issue. I'm using Meebo on my Samsung Captivate.

Yahoo, ICQ, MSN, GTalk and AIM work fine, but when I go to try and log in to Facebook IM it says "Login failed for xxxxxxx@xxxxxx.xxx"

I'm surprised that Meebo's Facebook IM account setup asks for your Facebook email, since all others I've used ask for your Facebook username (which is different). I tried putting in my Facebook username instead too with no better luck.

I was however able to get Meebo to connect to Facebook by using the Jabber setup and using username@chat.facebook.com but I wonder if I'm missing any nice Facebook-specific functionality that Meebo normally supports.

Any thoughts?

I'm using meebo and it works great to sign into Facebook. I set it up a long time ago however, so I'm not sure if I did anything different.

There aren't any special features of Facebook chat on meebo, it behaves just like aim and yahoo etc.

Same thing here. Signs on to my googletalk and aim fine, but FB is a no go.

Not sure if I did anything different but my Facebook works fine all the time.
one thing I did is I set up and logged into all my accounts through meebo.com and then on my phone instead of setting up each account through the app I just log into my meebo account through the app and it logs into all my messengers and it seems to run a lot better.

I was just encountering the same problem today on my Droid X; Meebo was unable to connect to facebook using my correct credentials.

I have determined that you must log into facebook chat through the meebo.com messaging service through a computer web browser in order for the java control that obtains permissions from facebook to function. Otherwise, facebook's addon permission checker prohibits the connection.

Hope this helps someone, spent about an hour screwing around to fix this.

SOLUTION
1. Use Meebo to log into facebook chat and grant meebo permission to access your facebook account.
2. Your meebo app on your mobile will be able to log into your facebook account.

I have determined that you must log into facebook chat through the meebo.com messaging service through a computer web browser in order for the java control that obtains permissions from facebook to function. Otherwise, facebook's addon permission checker prohibits the connection.
