Please help im trying to get the EE rom installed but i can't get past this......
connected my phone, charge only, went to settings
and unmounted the sd, then sent and recieved these commands

"C:\Documents and Settings\castillod\Desktop\android-sdk-windows\tools> adb
shell mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system

C:\Documents and Settings\castillod\Desktop\android-sdk-windows\tools>adb
push recovery.img /sdcard
failed to copy 'recovery.img' to '/sdcard/recovery.img': Read-only file
system"

it looks like the Mount command isnt working, anyone have any ideas why?

Looks to me like you unmounted the SD card from its normal mount point, aka /sdcard

You are correct that the SD card is not supposed to be mounted to the PC (maybe you thought that's what you were doing), but it definitely needs to be mounted by the phone.

The mount command will complain if it doesn't work; you got no complaints, so it worked; besides, that is for a different filesystem (/system , not /sdcard).

Reboot your phone and start over.

Since it appears that your PC is successfully communicating with the phone, you might want to save yourself some headaches and just flash the recovery image in one command by using fastboot.

Power the phone up in fastboot mode by holding down both the Send+End/Power buttons and

Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-eris-v1.6.2.img

yes i am rooted that was simple.....as for the sd mounting/unmounting i didnt pull the sd card i just went to setting and unmounted it....

Yeah dont do that. Leave the phone on charge and do not go to the settings and unmount the card from the phone.

When we say make sure your card isnt mounted, we mean mounted to the computer from your phone while connected with the charge cable. In other words, dont plug the phone in, drag down the notification bar and select disk drive option, leave it at charge only like you mentioned earlier.
