Favorite App so far.... Developers please see link to Announcements above.

Switcher Widget is cool.
Screebl is amazing.
Apps Organizer is something I will not live without.
Pure Calendar Widget is a must have if you have a daily schedule to follow

The rest of my must haves seemed to be already mentioned several times.

Anyone know of an app like CoolIris? I really miss it (had an iPod touch before).

Tim

Not sure what device you have but on the Nexus 1 and Droid Cool Iris developed the native gallery app and gave it the 3D effect. Hope that helps.

Gesture Search, find any contact, app or bookmark instantly just by writing out the first or second letter with your finger on the screen.

It is very accurate and for me has replaced the people app completely.

Hi, 1st post here.

Andropas: Must have application for using public transport in the Helsinki area of Finland.

Appbrain: For discovering new apps and the ease of browsing and marking apps for later installation.

Astrid: Awesome little task manager that keeps me going through busy days. Gotta love the icon!

Dolphin Browser HD: Great browsing experience in my opinion. Never updated to the later versions since it lost the Youtube download functionality.

ES File Explorer: The best file explorer, also features LAN and FTP connectivity.

Nimbuzz: Great, albeit slightly bloated IM client. Supports Skype, Windows Live Messenger (MSN), Yahoo IM, ICQ, AIM, GoogleTalk, Facebook, MySpace and many more.

Radio.nl: Nice for listening to Dutch radio webstreams. (used to live in The Netherlands)

Solo Lite: Great virtual guitar! Fun to just play around or compose songs with on the road. Been having good times at jam sessions with this app.

Wifi Analyzer: Great little app for Wifi analysis and troubleshooting.

- My Collections: for cataloguing books/music/DVDs via barcode

- Remote for iTunes: works 9 times out of ten!

- Shake Them All live wallpaper: just great fun

- Sky Maps: great time killer/mind expander

- LockMe widget: useful to stop friends messing with your phone!

- 3G Watchdog widget: nice to see all that info at a glance

My favs:

Gemini Calendar: Much better than the stock calendar insofar as layout and widget.

BatteryTimeLite: Monitors my percentage and tells me how long my battery will last in various modes.

Removed Gemini Calendar (and soon to be Pure Calendar) and BatteryTime Lite, replaced with:

Android Agenda: A very nice multifunctional calendar widget that looks good too.

Battery Indicator: Miss the usage times for my old one, but changed to this to save on widget space by putting my percentage at the top of the screen.

Also recently added...

System Info Widget: 4 x 1 widget that tells battery life, battery temperature, free RAM, free ROM, and SD card space left

Lookout: Not sure about the effectiveness of the anti-virus but the location ability and backup combined with minimal battery usage make it nice.

Widget Locker: Better than flyscreen since you don't have to unlock twice with only a little glitch here and there.

Contact Sidebar: Nice widget for fast dialing most called contacts.

3G Watchdog: With my data plan now, I like to make I'm not going to be throttled down for too much data plus I like the prediction function.

Barcode Scanner: Good for shopping and QB codes.

RockPlayer: For Divx and other files without having to convert.

Drhyde, for the Widget Locker, are the widgets interactive when they are in the lock screen? Like music player.

This seems to be a pretty new app, so the comments aren't as helpful. Is the app buggy at all? lol...and since you have the N1, since the lock screen takes up the whole screen basically...how does the widgets show? The pictures are of Sense lock.

Thanks,

The widgets are anything you have on your phone at the moment (not that selective crap from flyscreen) and have almost all of their functionality. I haven't tested extensively yet, but I keep my flashlight widget (works perfectly), beautiful widgets large (weather check is fine, but clicking on alarm clock or calendar changes it back to normal lock screen and when you unlock you are at those apps), and music player (play/pause, next are fine, however playlist does the same as with beautiful widgets).

As far as how they show, widget locker actually moves the unlock/silent sliders down further so you have almost as much space as you would on a regular homescreen and removes the standard clock/calendar. It seems some interactivity functions of widgets will cause the scenario above and others will not. Adding widgets is just like the normal homescreen, a long press and the menu comes up. The lockscreen can also flip to landscape mode. There is an icon on the status bar showing that it is running and it appears so far to consume very little battery. There's also settings allow for quick unlocking with the pressing of just about any button. Any other questions I'll be happy to answer, but for $.99 it's a pretty good deal.

As far as buggy, occasionally it will show the regular lockscreen and then load itself up. There are a couple of other things I observed, but can't remember off hand. They weren't bad enough to make me want a refund.

Ok, so I've read every post in this thread, proceeded to jot down all of the apps I thought I might like, and went crazy with the downloads. Have 22 new apps from this thread alone. Probably over 30 non-stock apps total (HTC EVO).

So who has the most apps installed on their phone. Is there a limit somewhere because with all these thousands of apps, how can one not have 20-30-40-50-100 that they like?

It really depends on how big the apps you download are and how much memory are allotted to you for apps storage on your internal phone storage. They range from 0.1MB to 23MB (Google Earth). I have 196MB and have about 80 apps with 38MB left.

Do you feel like it affects the performance of the phone in any way? I read that one guy had 166 apps and was having some problems. Just want to know when enough is enough. But it looks like I have a LONG ways to go.

:)

Unless you're running a lot of the apps at once, I don't think the performance should be affected drastically. It's not as fast lets say when you have ZERO apps on the phone. Peformance on the home screens and opening apps don't seem to have been majorly affected.

Only issue I have is loading the shortcut app screen...which takes a good 15 seconds for the popup screen to load all of the apps. I've brought this up in the N1 forum and it seems like another person and I were the only ones with this issue...But usually if your phone is slugish, it might be a rouge app using up up resources.
