Help How long does your battery last?

WOW! The least amount of time ive ever gotten was 14-18 hours on heavy use. Normal time I get? About 22-24 hours normal use. And light use? Ive gotten well over 28 hours.

Btw, my heavy use is VERY heavy, my normal use is heavy, and my light use is a normal persons normal.

Although, as of late, ive switched chargers and have been having some trouble. It charges the phone incredibly fast (20%-100% in one hour) but it seems my battery drains quicker. Its not the "recommended" charger, but I lost that one. Hmm..Gonna have to look into wth it is that im using.

I use the power bar widget to turn off Wifi, GPS, autosync and bluetooth when I don't need them plus I manually control my screen brightness and turned it all the way down as low as it can go. I've also turned off all haptic feedback options so that my phone doesn't vibrate everytime I press an icon and I immediately shut off the screen when i'm done using the phone and I get 3-4 days out of my battery. Now granted I don't live on my phone, but I use the internet everyday, make plenty of phone calls for work everyday, do some light texting everyday and occasionally use the GPS to find homes I go to for repairs. So i'd say I get better than average life out of my battery because it lasts me a lot longer than I was expecting it to.

To be honest, my phone has had the 50% bug on a couple of occasions and I never noticed it draining the battery any more than normal. I still did a power cycle just to clear it when I noticed it happening, but for all I know it could have been doing it for hours before I saw it and my battery didn't drain quicker than normal.

After the airplane mode trick and the trick I did I get about 14 hours out of it on standby and about 6 on medium usage (100-200 texts) so still not good but it helped a little the bug is still there thought because my time without service still goes up to like 44% sometimes and than starts dropping so I'm guessing one of those tricks did something to make it stop looking for service for a few mins and it just keeps doing that through the day, the phone is suppose to get 300 hours standby time not 14 =/

Alright heres the list: (I dont keep anything open, I close everything after im done using it and I dont have any widgets running at all)

Advanced Task Killer, AppBrain App Market, ASTRO, Barcode Scanner, Draw, FMyLife, Goggles, Last.fm, Meebo IM, Music Download, Shazam, Google Voice, Swype

--- like I said I dont use any apps, I avoid using the phone because it dies so fast so its pretty much a $100 dollar paper with an LG logo on it for me... I wish I could have fun with the phone more but that will give me like 3-4 hours of battery life =/

my LCD light is at its lowest, wifi/gps and all that turned off, its mostly on vibrate so sounds are usually off, everything is at lowest settings to conserve battery, screen timeout at 30 seconds

Meebo IM is a known battery beast. Have you tried going without a task killer? Honestly I've never used one and I have never once had a problem with battery life. Last.fm is known to hang around in your running services (not as an open application, but it constantly uses the background data even after exiting similar to what meebo does) What do you use for email? Also fyi vibrate uses more juice than ringers, but I've always had my stuff set to ring and vibrate. Since you know how to check for the cell stanby issue try going into that setting and see what else is eating at your battery. Do you put your phone asleep when you are done using it? sorry about all the questions but I know for a fact that you should be getting more than 3-4 hours out of your phone even if you were watching streaming music, browsing the web and navigation all at the same time. For you to feel like your phone is holding your usage hostage unless you charge it every couple of hours is just unacceptable and I want to help you out!

Then I would think you phone deserves to be replaced. For free. Last question, have you noticed that your phone gets hot? You can try a hard reset (complete data wipe) and start over, but I doubt that would help just by what you are describing. When you do swap it out (or data reset) give some serious thought to going without a task killer
