I hope so! I'm helping Phases with the list of general and member bugs, others are working on the staff ones.

Please start a conversation with Pup and I on what's broken if you don't have a GC thread already.

With all you do, and many thanks for that for certain, you not being square would kind of stand out. :eek:

We have two threads going in Guide Central. Nothing critical on either of them. Suggestions mostly and getting everything stabilized first takes precedence. Hopefully you will review them. Some items were addressed (like being able to change the prefix code on a message).

If the lists of phone forums is frozen I would be happy to review the Motorola lists. A fresh pair of eyes usually helps. It is tough to do if they are still being dynamically revised.

The blank post thing doesn't happen in tapatalk for me, my only issue on desktop (Windows & chrome) & tapatalk is that any new posts I make take a while to actually post.

Firstly, apologies if this has already been covered but couldn't spot a way to search the thread (yet! sure I'll find it as didn't look very hard). Have a couple of issues with Tapatalk app, post-migration I found I couldn't load-up any subscribed device specific forums, no problem I thought I'd just unsubscribe and then browse through the sub-forums to re-subscribe. Problem is I can't seem to browse the forums using Tapatalk, although the other menu selections do work eg Participated, Search etc. So thought probably just need to log out and then log back in through Tapatalk, but it hasn't solved the problem - when selecting Browse it just sits there mocking me with the progress circle and "Loading ... " with nothing but blank screen :-( . Not sure if its the migration or Tapatalk but really hope it can be sorted, as it's main way I interact with the forum.

I've noticed the for me (Win 8 / Chrome) that the font on the site seems to put numbers below letters
Letters follow a straight line - abcdefghijklmnopqrstuv
Numbers couldn't pass a sobriety test - 1234567890 (underlined for clarity 1234567890)

Somewhere down the pipeline; you must be ending up with the wrong font being displayed, I guess? I don't see numbers with decenders on Android or win8 chrome.

That's normal for that font. Do you somehow have your browser set to use that instead of the site font?

I haven't done anything with fonts or themes on Chrome that I know of. I just checked and I don't see where I would change that.

Edit: I just looked in IE and it is the same. Must be a system font setting somewhere.

I'll be at a Win7/Chrome shortly, will check there. I use so many browser/OS combinations that I admit I may have confused that.

Or - have you changed your system font or theme from the default? (And if so, remember that the key to Windows 7 performance is to install VirtualBox and run Linux.)

In IE I found the setting to override the site font with a font I choose and that got rid of the dipping numbers.

There's a way to do that in Chrome/Win7 as well - I tried it but it's not working, either because of me or it, either way, if I can't do it in a jiffy it's not a solution for everyone.

I did check our CSS defs and they're pretty straightforward:

font-family: 'Trebuchet MS',Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;
font: 13px/1.231 arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif;

And the fun part comes in because there are two types of numbers - lining and old school.

OpenFonts go with old school, and that's become a popular preference in a lot of circles - and as you know, it's like this:

I have no idea what's involved in changing our style sheets - they're a pain to modify and easy to get errors over time when you start tinkering (we had literally over a hundred that had crept in to the old site).

And even changing fonts in the style definitions may not be enough - you can imagine the layout errors if done incompletely.

Last word goes to Phases, though I'll bet 10 quatloos that we're going to be this way until sometime down the road.

Since you mods now have so much free time {

} I found a couple of nits to keep you busy. I put them all in the same post since they may be (and probably are) related. This is on a desktop system with Firefox 32.0.1 under Windows 7 Pro.

With the old stuff, selecting a thread went to the start of the thread. If you wanted to you could press first unread to continue where you left off.

With Xenoforum going to androidforums.com > My Forums > unread posts and selecting a thread you usually go to the first new post which has a green new tag on the upper right. If this is the correct way of working, I like it a lot.

The first nit is sometimes it goes to the middle of the first page with new posts, but I either have to scroll down to find the first new post or scroll to the top/bottom to press the first unread button. (This does go to the first unread.)

The second nit is that after reading the new posts on a page and advancing to the next page, all the green new tags are gone. Yes, I know they are new since they occur after the first new post, but should the flag disappear?

Sometimes, I haven't found a reason why, selecting a thread takes me to the first post instead of the first unread post.

If you need the members to send you some Raid or Black Flag let us know...

When this happens are there images in any of the posts? Sometimes when an image loads for me it messes up the page position so it's not at the first new post and I also have to scroll down.

I've never experienced that with a web browser, the New flag has always shown when going to the next page.
