Looking for launcher

I agree with all the above, Nova Prime is great. One other thing, get rid of Go Launcher. I had used Go for almost 3 years because I thought the app was great. I knew the support was terrible. When I finally uninstalled my Go apps, all sorts of little and not so little glitches disappeared. Nova's support is good and so far the updates have gone smoothly. You can also use a lot of "Go" themes with Nova. Even if you decide not to use Nova, do yourself a favor and dump "Go".

I like go launcher because you:

can resize the screens and fit 6x5 icons on a screen, or however many you want.

Resize widgets

Nova Prime does these as well.

Rename icons

I never tried this on Nova.

I like holo launcher because it's fast and speedy but doesn't have the above features. Any recommendations?

I use Nova Prime. I also use it to remove the dock at the bottom of most phone home screens. That way, I have more room for another row of screen objects.

Nova Prime also allows you to overlap widgets. Some widgets do not take up the entire area of the screen that it is allocated. I use Nova to resize the widgets to make them bigger and overlap it with other objects to make the visible part of the widget bigger.

You can rename icons in Nova. In fact, you can do a lot with each icon including adding a second action. Here is the edit screen for each icon. You can change the icon like "Go" but "Go" doesn't have the Swipe function.
You can also add more than 3 Docs and do things that "Go" can't do. Try it, you'll like it!

No, there isn't an option to resize app launcher icons in Nova Prime. Widgets, yes, but not apps (or not that I could see - I don't keep any app icons on my desktops, so had to put one there so I could test this, so it's conceivable there's a trick I didn't spot).

I could imagine ways of working around this, but they would be multi-step procedures (make own copy of icon, use it in a widget, resize widget).

A vote for HOLO Launcher HD here:
1) Grid can be sized from 3x3 up to 10x10
2) Widgets can be resized
3) Icons can be renamed,as well as changed altogether & resized both in app drawer/desktop/dock.

As for screen resizing,I'm not exactly sure on what you're looking for, but,it does not seem to be a feature of HOLO Launcher HD.
Some phones/ROMS have screen re-sizing,or,one-handed use mode, which shrinks the size ofthe screen to make one-handed use abit easier.
This sounds like something that might be acheived w/another app for the PlayStore OR,if you're rooted,a ROM &/or Xposed Module.

What about re-sizing say just a few icons to 2x2?And is this with prime?Because Nova Launcher free wouldn't let me change the size of the icons.

Screen shot of Nova free 3.3, which is what I'm using. (I always use the previous version of most apps because phone cpu and memories get bigger all the time)

Edit:
Ok, I checked and it doesn't actually resize the icons.

Does it not actually shrink the icons when you increase the grid size?(nova) Been a while since I've proper played with homescreens but I thought it shrunk the icons when you increased grid size but my memory is a chicken ;)
No, but Nova Prime has options for resizing the icons independently of the other features. You can have huge icons on the homescreen and really tiny ones in the App Drawer if you like.
