1 year family plan contract?

Hi guys,

My girlfriend recently got the iPhone on VZ and I am looking to get the Bionic and for us to switch to a family plan.

I would really like to get a one year plan, but was wondering if that was possible seeing how this is a family plan and that she presumably paid the iPhone price that reflects a two year commitment.

Do you think I will be stuck with the same phone for two years if I join VZ and get a family plan with the GF?

I know it depends on which plan is chosen but the math I did was:

Individual
450min for $40
500 Texts for $10
Data Plan for $30
= $80 pre tax (so $160 for both)

Family plan
1400min for $90
500 Texts each for $20
Data plan for $60
= $170 pre tax

The 700 minute plan would be cutting it too close for us. Nothing major in the end though.
