Suppose someone quotes a line from Chaucer's Canterbury Tales? That's classic lit and some is downright saucy. Shakespeare could get bawdy. I don't really think I'd want all older papers, novels, poetry bowdlerized for sensitive ears. It didn't work in Victorian times.
