Accessing files on phone with computer

Hello
This is my first post so I hope I get it right, I have the Samsung Galaxy SIII with att and was wondering how I can accessfiles on my phone when connected to my pc. I have not downloaded any special files and I just got the phone and am trying to learn all about it. Thanks so much for any help.

Just plug it in and wait for drivers to install. If you are using a Windows PC, it will appear under My Computer as I9300 under "My Devices"

in most cases.. once you plug in the phone with a usb cable to your PC...
the phone will ask you .. if you want to connect as storage or just battery charge.

if you select storage.. it will act like any Flash Drive.. a drive under your "My computer"

sometimes.. you might have to load a driver from samsung website to your PC.
