Root Almost Rooted...

Okay. I have a Blaze running Gingerbread 2.3.6. I have tried EVERYTHING to get this phone rooted. Thankfully, I'm almost there. I have the update.zip file ready to execute, and I get this:

E: signature verification failed

I've tried using other apps and computer software, but none of them work. I don't have a Windows computer, so I've been using Mac and running exe files with Winebottler. Odin doesn't work, and Heimdall gives error messages every time. I REALLY wanna root this. Help please?

There are more, I just can't remember them.

I'm no expert on this phone but this seems promising to me:

As long as you can get cwm running, should be able to use it to flash su.zip and root. I didn't immediately spot the proper su.zip file for this phone but it surely must be floating around here somewhere.
