Andriod system suddendly drains my battery

I know there are many threads about battery drain, but i have a more specific question. Since maybe one week Android system became by far the number one battery drainer. I would like to pinpoint what application is doing this as Android system is too vague. I suspect that an application is keeping the phone awake most of the time or something like this but i don't know how to check this. Any hint will be most appreciate.
