Android Gmail: how I do archive a message I have searched for? (Using ICS 4)

I search for a message
One of my results is unread
I go into the message
How do I archive the message?
There seems to be no way to do this - not even through a sub menu option

Am I missing something?

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S2 with ICS 4.0

Thanks

OM

yes, using gmail app :)
try it urself
don't get confused with normal interaction - where u look at ur inbox and go into a message read - and then you're allowed to archive delete etc

- search for a message
- find one that has been unread
- go into that message
- for me there is no damn option to archive

this winds me up!
grrr!

I don't have any unread message right now so I can't check. Why just not read it, back out, then archive it from the list?

this is ok if u have only 10 messages in ur inbox
if u have 8000 unread messages it's a massive problem
lets say there was an important email received 2 weeks ago
u left unread meaning to come back to
u only just remembered about the important message
u search for xyz and locate it
u don't want to delete it and u don't want to keep in ur inbox

do me a favour: search for an old email - anything
enter it, move it to inbox and mark it as unread
now search for the same message and enter it
do u now have the problem i have??
