android slow after loading google Maps

Hi,

I have an old HTC Hero GSM, and I'm actually quite amazed that one of the first android phones still runs very fluently (with VillainRom 13.0.0). Except for one thing.... after I load and quit Google Maps or Google Navigation application, the phone gets very slow. I tried to force stop the application with a task manager, but no luck. A cold restart is needed to make the phone fast again. Anyone has the same experience, or knows about this?
