Battery life

I turn on my phone in the morning and when I check the battery stats it says only 10 hours and this is when it's at 100%. I've turned off stuff like location and auto sync and also updated the Samsung app. I also have kept my phone on airplane mode for majority of the day but it still is horrible any ideas why?

It's for as long as the battery lasts but in total I probably use it roughly 3 hours.

How much old your phone is? If you use for long time then you battery might fall down.

It's the Samsung s6, not even a week old

@oohkmada you may want to do a factory reset. Several people have reported great battery life after a factory reset with this device, others haven't needed to do so. Your issue sounds like a good candidate imo.

Longshot, but your battery calibration might be off. Try letting your S6 discharge to its maximum extent, 1 – 5% and then do a full charge.

Oohkmada, I noticed that the battery life is a bit better when you completely drain the battery too.

^^^ Always did this with all my phones. Even after 3 years of usage I get same battery time as day one or almost.
If you can't always do it, do it at least as much as you can and you will see the results.

Forcing a battery into deep depletion leads to heat, that leads to metal structure deformation, and that leads to shorter battery life, not more.

If you have the opposite experience, that's definitely odd.

Sometimes I had been flashing various roms most clean and some dirty in rom nightly updates. And after I let the phone die out. The battery lasted longer

Baggage can come along with a custom rom or an extended battery - I'll definitely grant you that from my experience as well.

But for stock, normal use - not so much.

Yaa, it'll mostly be effective if you haven't let it die like for months

The battery life of my S6 seems to be improving every day. Don't know why, but it does and i use my phone a lot.

I found this too. 10 hour estimate when I first got the phone a couple of weeks ago. It is 19 hours now. I suppose you can't keep you fingers off a new phone when you first get it.

That's definitely not the reason, I use it much more now than in the beginning.
