Help Best way to move Contacts

I am moving from a Winmo phone i use Microsoft Myphone to back up my contacts etc

What is the best way to transfer this info to my New Droid X any help greatly appreciated

I sync'd my iPhone contacts to Google/Gmail through iTunes. Then when I sync'd my android device with my Gmail account, everything was there. Microsoft may have a similar means to sync with Google.

Gmail also supports the vcard format for import if you can export as that.

Gmail is the best for contacts but if you want to do SMS and everything else, I think Sprite is the only one that goes cross-platform for backups.

i would recommend creating a new gmail acct just for backing up your contacts on your phone. then also make a back up using back up assistant.

I plan on trying gmail first but i would like to have a plan B.

I just used sprite in seems to work as far back from winmo but when try to convert a message pops up that says go to android market and get the newer version for the task to complete

Android market seems to only be accesible from phone ? won't have that until friday

There are tons of ways to go about this...

You can put the contacts into something like gmail or outlook.

There are also many free applications that can backup your data and make this transfer!

If your Winmo phone is still active you can download the m:IQ app and that will backup your whole phone, contacts, calender, texts ect. to an online private account. Then when you get the new X (Sweet!) you can just download m:IQ on that phone and all your data will automatically load on! Pretty cool!

OK, so I signed up with a gmail acct on my desktop...how do I move my phone info to it??? I can't seem to figure it out. I have a LG Dare.

u have to download the google sync app on to your phone. ..not a 100% sure it will work with that Dare. ...anyone?

$16.50...Oh how I hate the effing Dare...eff it, backup assist should work just fine. I ain't dropping any more money on this peice of crap one day before I get the X.

I have the Dare too and I'm just going to use Backup Assistant to transfer. Its free if you are using the phone as the primary number on the account.

I have dare too. Mine has been craked for quite awhile though. But hopefully I can get the X tomorrow! My first smartphone.

i just did this and so far in gmail i can only see contacts with email addresses. when i actually sync with the x, will it see all the other ones that arent appearing in gmail?
