Help Call Waiting, etc.

I need basic help on how to use some of the features on my Motion. Yesterday, I was on the phone with someone whilst someone else was trying to bell me. They tried five times, but I did not know how to answer the call. How does it work, and how may I tell who it is that is calling so that I know whether or not I want to answer it or let it roll over to voicemail?

Also, does this phone have three way calling on MetroPCS? If so, how does the three way calling work? What other nifty features like this does the phone have?

Sorry to ask for help on what I know are pretty basic operations, but I am brand new to smart phones.
