Camera malfunction

Does anyone know what app might make your camera not function? If I wipe everything and start whith a fresh phone the camera comes back. So, I'm pretty sure it's an app. I have mostly news apps and some games for the kids. I really don't want to have to delete and check the camera for every app I have. I was hoping someone might know what type of app might cause this, or if they've heard of one specific app where this happens.
