I don't know if I would want to use the volume button for the camera. To me the volume buttons are pretty rigid, and trying to press them while holding for a shot will just make the picture come out either shaky or blurry. Don't use a shutter button at all actually. Pictures come out better when you tap and hold on the screen on the area of focus, it'll refocus and then take a picture. I think it's more clear and better looking than using the shutter button.
Yeah I don't mind doing it that way, but if I want to take a picture of me and a friend/gf w/o having to use the front cam I don't want to have to guess where to press on the screen.

Ahh I see what ur sayin. I gotta admit, the front facing camera really sucks for self shots, or maybe its just my settings. I'll have the camera facing, looks bright and looks good, but the result is almost a black figure. It just darkens so much you can't see anything. Don't know what's up with that.
A dedicated camera button is one of those things i cant believe they left off of this phone. I hope an update provides a way to set it to the volume rocker, but at the time i dont think you have options.
