Can no longer open Kies??

This morning I accepted the latest update dated today. Now I can not open Kies. I get "the volume for a file has been externally altered so that opened file is no longer valid".

Had exactly the same problem a couple of days ago. Had to remove the program from my computer, re download and install it from the Samsung site. It again offered me the option to update to the latest edition, but so far I have resisted. (I also had to use USB debugging mode to get the computer to recognise the device).
