Can the Samsung E-mail app search server e-mails?

I organise my @hotmail.com e-mail account e-mails into around 30 folders, nested within the Inbox.

I've noticed if I search for something in Samsung's E-mail app that is within a folder that I haven't yet opened (therefore downloaded), I get no results.

Stupidly, Samsung's E-mail app only appears to search downloaded headers/e-mails.

I have 'Period to sync Email' set to 'All time' but again, it doesn't download them unless I open each folder. And if I add an e-mail to a folder on my PC, it will only download that on my phone if I go back into the folder.

Is it possible to make it search the server by default?

Try Microsoft's own Outlook app instead. I know it can search emails server side with Outlook accounts, and presume it can do the same for Microsoft Hotmail as well.

I have, it's rubbish

The Mail app in iOS has always allowed server-side searches, which makes this doubly-annoying.
