Help Cannot Send/Receive/Open Texts after Update

After updating to the new Android (ice cream sandwich) earlier today, whenever I try to open my texts, the loading screen keeps loading until it finally says it's not responding.

I've restarted my phone, taken out my battery, and it still does this. I had a coworker text me and I didn't receive anything.

I've tried searching the web and I know there have been others who have the same issue but nobody has come up with a solution. I would call AT&T but I'm at work... Can anybody help me? Thank you.

Nevermind, I think they are starting to go through now... I guess the system was still booting up or something but it took hours.

It can take as long as 2 DAYS for everything to get completely set----particularly if you have a large SD card and/or tons of media.
