So I got root on my Wildfire S (Marvel), get all excited, and head over to Cyanogen's homepage. I follow the download link to one of the worst-layed-out pages I have EVER seen (https://download.cyanogenmod.org/). There is a Wildfire section (CM7) but no Wildfire S section :(

I tried the "CyanogenMod Installer" which said my phone is unsupported, :'(

The only mention of it is on the unsupported ports page,

Unofficial Ports - CyanogenMod

I followed that port to the xda forum and their link was broken, so still no version of CM that I can install on my Wildfire S...

After hours of searching, I have found this page on the xda forum.

A 4.2.2 rom by owl for wildfire s. Prayers answered!

However if anybody could please link me to a version of CM11? Or any other custom firmware for that matter, I'm gagging to use some custom firmware now I am root!

Thanks, Wardy

Ooooo, thats looks promising, will keep an eye on that, thanks to you both for the links. I am really enjoying 10.1 on my Wildfire. Finally all those apps that were not supported by Android 2.3.5 (stoneage right?) or had limited features, are now available/in full. :D

My phone really is a little computer now, so happy. Bye bye bloatware, I thought I'd never see the back of Amazon MP3 (usless app). Also, THANK YOU HTC! I can't believe they are giving away the tools to unlock the bootloader, how awsome is that. Can you imagine Apple doing something that helpful? EVER!? Never been so happy I didn't buy into Apple/iPhone and all of the shit that comes with it.

Thanks again,
Wardy

PS. The 4.2.2 rom by OWL has almost all features enabled. Some of the other unofficial CM10.1s don't have working USB/wifi tethering, camera etc.

The only feature not supported is wifi tethering (hotspot) and video recording. The camera works perfect (except for the preview) and I CAN tether with my USB cable, happy days!
