Help default icons

is there a way to get rid of the bottom row of icons on the home screen of the epic 4g (phone...contacts...messaging...applications)?

i have read that there was a way, however, based i believe what i read was for another samsung model phone with the same home screen icons. not to metion that it was said that the next update "may" fix it.

i also read something about launcher pro or another app. that can change the icons. if that is the case, can someone post step by step how to use the apps in order to change the icons?

If you are on 2.1, no. If 2.2, yes.

If you use launcher pro, you can change them to whatever you want, but you loose Touchwiz functions (if that matters to you) because it's a homescreen replacement app.

i have no idea what touchwiz is or does; therefore, i doubt it's anything i "really" need.

i checked my phone for updates and, thus far, it says i am up to date. it is currently 2.1.

once i do get launcherpro, how do go about resetting the icons?

press and hold... then change them to what you want.
