Help Deleting emails in Gmail issue?

Using Gmail on the phone and in Chrome on the PC. Deleting an email on the phone doesn't seem to delete the one in Gmail in Chrome (vice versa applies). Anyone know how to get them both synced so when you delete one version of the email it gets removed from both?

It will, just not instantly. In my experience it can be anything from intant to like a minute.

I access gmail through Chrome on my PC also. How can I delete emails in the gmail app and not delete them on the server, so I can still access the email on my PC?

Does anyone know how to password protect the Gmail app on the phone? I don't want to have to put a password (or swipe pattern) every time I awaken the phone, but I would like to password protect my gmail account.
