Disappearing Memory?

When I boot my phone fresh and open the built in Task Manager it displays a total of 803 MB and usually around 400 MB free with no apps displayed. However, several hours later when I open Task Manager and kill of the running apps it only displays somewhere around 300 MB. The next day that number usually drops to 200 MB and eventually under 100 MB.

Is this normal? Has anyone else noticed this trend? If this is abnormal, what can be done to prevent it?

I am rooted, but this problem existed for weeks before I gained root access.

You really are doing yourself no favors by killing tasks, read the above thread, it should answer all of your questions on this.

As EM stated, the reason(s) is/are discussed in that thread. very great info by Early Mon himself as well as a select few. please read through the thread and discuss there if you still have any other issues.
