Where are you not seeing contact photos? In the people app or a text messaging app? Do you sync your contacts somewhere, and, if yes, where (Google, verizon backup assistant)?
Try going into settings / active display and turn it off, restart the phone, go back and turn it on. See if that helps.Hi! I have an annoying problem!
As of the past two days, that is
On any normal basis, if my phone is asleep, and its taped or moved out picked up or something, it'll show the time, and a circle with either an unlock button, or a notification.
It's not doing it anymore! Is there something in settings to fix this?
Yes! It worked! Thank you!Try going into settings / active display and turn it off, restart the phone, go back and turn it on. See if that helps.
Fwiw, I get best results if I leave my phone upside down on a table. Flipping it over *always* shows the notification.
Is it a popup or a notification in the notification shade? (A popup is something that pops over the screen as you are using the phone.) I don't recall ever seeing a popup from a wifi network with those two settings turned on. A notification, yes. (But maybe I'm remembering that wrong.)I am having an issue with Wifi notifications I would love help with. I have gone into Settings->Wifi->Advanced and unchecked Network notification and Wi-Fi notifications, but I am still getting the popup to choose a Wifi network (or ignore and use wifi later) whenever I am out and about an start up an app. I really do not want this popup as it triggers the parental control software on the phone. Is there any way to truly disable it? I've tried re-enabling, restarting phone, disabling, restarting phone, and it still happens. I'm not sure what else to try?
It is the pop-over screen that lists the Wifi networks in the area when you start up an app that uses networks. I hope that makes sense. It also has a button at the bottom to not use wifi now. I've not figured out a pattern of which apps trigger it, but it's definitely more than one (I do know Minecraft is one that definitely causes it but not sure of others). Of course do not see it at home since I have my Wifi set to automatically connect. Is it a popup or a notification in the notification shade? Are you sure it isn't the parental control software that is doing the popup?
Is it any app that you try to run or a particular app?
What happens if you temporarily uninstall the parental control software? Do you still get the popup?
I never saw that notification when I disabled the settings (which I did because I didn't want to see the notification at all.)
Oh, and which parental control application is it?
I must not use any apps that do anything like that.It is the pop-over screen that lists the Wifi networks in the area when you start up an app that uses networks. I hope that makes sense. If you go into the settings for the app Minecraft, does it have a setting to ask you to use the app only on WiFi or to allow use on cellular networks (or anything like that)? I don't have Minecraft (obviously) so I can't check myself. I can see a game giving you that option, in order to prevent heavy cellular data use.
What happens if you toggle WiFi off when you want to use an app like Minecraft? I suppose that you could use an app like Llama to look for when you are away from home and toggle the WiFi radio off and then back on when you get back home.
One last question: in the wifi advanced settings there is a setting that says something like "scanning always available". Does it work any better if you turn that option off? (That setting leaves the WiFi radio on even when you toggle it off so that it can be used for location services.)
I used hangouts and I *never* saw a wifi popup.I checked Minecraft, no settings for Wifi only (which was a good idea). I have turned off scanning so we will see what happens. I just had it pop up about an hour ago when I unlocked phone and immediately opened Hangouts, so there's another app that triggers it. We'll see if the scanning makes any difference!

Are you sure it's not some weird setting in the parental control app?
Do you have any other system apps that might be doing this?
I'll poke around some more in the data settings but my Maxx isn't activated for data anymore so I'm not sure if I'll see anything.
Good morning!
Avid reader. Having two frustrating issues. First is the whole "restart camera" thing which apparently nobody on the web seems to know what's flying other than the fact that it seemed to start somewhat recently.
Settings / apps, slide to all, tap "NFL Mobile" and tap the disable button. Mine has been disabled since day one (though I have to re-disable it with android version updates or after a factory data reset.)Second issue is the dumb stock NFL mobile app that comes with phone and can't be uninstalled, nor truly disabled. I've been dealing with annoying notifications for at least a year in the drop-down but apparently it's been eating data too! Any advice without having to finally root the phone?
The camera one seems to be more common these days, if you Google "Droid Maxx camera error" you'll see a bunch of issues in Verizon community. I can also take a screenshot for you to see if you'd like, but I definitely hear where you're coming from about it probably being hardware-related.I am not aware of what you are referring to. My camera works fine. I do know that plenty of people report camera issues but they persist after a factory data reset and are therefore hardware problems with some part of the camera system. Bad news, but it happens.

That's no good.My headphone jack stopped working right within the first year. It was definitely a hardware problem - I had to start using Bluetooth when I wanted audio. If I were you I'd try a factory data reset *without* restoring data or installing any third party apps and see if audio skipping, etc. was still happening then, to rule out software issues. If so, maybe it's time for a warranty replacement (if it's still under warranty) or a new device.
