Eris update mr2 is official.

REMOVE your Sd card before you do this update, after the update my card was cooked.
Lost 3 years of pics and music:mad:

Sux.

Just curious - was the SD card nearly full, or did it have lots of space on it before the update started? (I'm just going to wait for the OTA, anyway).

BTW, since the card is (supposed to be) formatted as a VFAT file system, there is an outside chance that some files or many of the files can be rescued from the SD card (unless you re-formatted it). You might want to talk to a data recovery specialist if the stuff on there was of lots of value to you.

Anyone have any troubles installing this on a Windows 7 x64 computer? I get a really long error when trying to run the install. I'm assuming it's incompatible with my OS.

I read how to do this since I have Windows 7 x64, and was having an issue. You need to install the program, then take a file from the Windows Vista drivers for HTC and copy and paste it into the directory that you installed Sync into. There is a thread either on here or on XDA that explains exactly how to do it step by step. It's annoying and a PITA, but it's easy.

do i have to reset my phone when i receive the update ota?

No. (Don't do that unless you have problems you can not resolve)

I just got the OTA, and I will suggest the following:

After the system is reflashed (you'll see an image with a yellow arrow coming out of a box and "loading" onto the device, and a progress bar), the phone will reboot as it normally does - when the HTC splash screen comes up, it may stay there for several minutes - much, much longer than it usually does. Don't touch the phone! Just let it sit and do it's thing until it boots up completely.
