1. download the FREE emulators (systems) on the android market.
2. then get the roms (games) from searching the internet (google roms)
3. download roms to your sd card
4. open emulator and search for the rom on your sd card.

ive been playing pokemon fire red on gameboid for the past hour, its running perfectly smooth with sound on, and i can save the game and continue on, even with just the free version. badass.

also tried DKC2 on snesoid, and it worked great, but harder to run and jump at same time.

Would it work if Sense was Force stopped and wasn't running? I don't have a Wiimote to test it.

The emulators aren't perfect, but they work fine for the slower paced games, mainly things that don't require you to jump forward: side-scrollers, fighting games, etc. But puzzle games and RPGs are awesome: FF series, Adventures of Lolo, Tetris, etc.

You can't save on most of the emulators, right? Is there a workaround to this anyone knows of? Aside from buying the full versions.....sorry, but I'm not buying something I've had free access to since I had my first computer.

^^you cant do a savestate, but as far as I know the built in saving for each game should work (so that means you have to save from within the game menu, not the app, ). could be wrong, take with grain of salt

Doom works, i find the D-pad really sensative though on Doom
but so far the GDB and SNES ones work

from some reason i can't unzip on the EVO, i've tried 2 diffrent apps with no luck

anyone have a solution to that?

I have been using all the emulators on my evo.....They run as good as the emulator can do it but controls are not great. i wouldnt play anything on the phone other than rpgs, which is what i want it for.....Platformers and twitchy type games just dont control very well.....

Seriously though, reports from some people I trust (fellow gamers), state that the response time with the EVO display is adequate for the Oid emulators, as long as they are not Contra-style games or real busy shooters. This means you will still be able to have fun with a BUNCH of games Incredible also has a responsive display, but Contra style games are a no-go as well.

Still not a match for a keyboard though. I miss my G1 keyboard for this reason, but appreciate the benefits of the Inc- just wish it had a keyboard.

EVO with a keyboard = netbook

BTW, for a post higher in the thread, you do not need to unzip the roms. They play the games zipped with no problem- saves over 50% of the space too

To be fair, that video had horrible framerate on the game that is most easily emulated. You could do the same on Android.

I have SNESoid, but the Roms I had weren't being shown as being compatible. Need to look into it a bit further.

I paid for the SNEW ROM, it runs well, but because of so many buttons a lot of the games are hard to play especially if they incorporate the L &R triggers. However the games run smooth as silk!
