Favourites query

I have the favourites widget set up and there is a little green circle with a "1" in it on one of the contacts - how can I get rid of this???

I'm faily sure its to indicate a text from that contact but I've opened all of the messages from that contact and its still there!?!?!

I've changed from the default SMS program to the "Handcent" SMS today - could this be the reason I cant clear it??
