Hi all!!
I joined this site as I am having a LOT of trouble with an app called "GO Launcher EX"....If any of you smart cookies would be able to help, I would really appreciate if you took a look here at my post! : http://androidforums.com/htc-thunderbolt/334396-adw-launcher-ex-users.html#post2735310

I myself use Go Launcher EX and it works very nicely. I found ADW launcher a bit slow, so I'm not using it.

Ohhhh okay...Lol, I think I thought ADW was the same as GO Launcher. Could you perhaps read my post and pretend I am saying "Go Launcher EX" when I say ADW and see if you know how to resolve my problem?

If I understand correctly, your issue is this:
1) How to set it as default
2) How to backup the settings

Here is what you can do:
1) After you have GO Launcher installed, open the applications drawer (hit the middle button to see the list of your apps), find Go Laucher and open it. Once started, press Home button and make it the default launcher.
2) Phone Menu - Preferences - Backup Configuration
