I've been trying to root my Iconia a500 all night! I have the official release of ICS 4.0.3. Is that why I can't root? Can I downgrade? Thanks

I rooted my A500 with 4.0.3. You have to have all your ducks in a row to root and the instructions didn't mention any ducks. I don't remember all the steps but there were a few.
