Let me begin by saying I have searched and read the threads in this forum for the last couple of hours hoping to find an answer to my questions. It was not a waste of time as I've learned so much during that time that I didn't know I needed to know...and for that I thank you all!
I have owned the Samsung Galaxy S2 now for 4 days from T-Mobile. It did an update two days ago and I am currently on Android Version 2.3.6.
I have installed Kies on my PC and went through all of the instructions. It currently tells me I have an update available:
From: PDA:LDE / PHONE:LDE / CSC:LDE (TMB)
To: PDA:LH1 / PHONE:LH1 / CSC:LHI (TMB)
Can someone tell me where this will put me in the big scope of things? I hear version numbers and version names and now the info above.
My understanding of this is:
Ice Cream - 4.#.#
Honeycomb - 3.#.#
Gingerbread - 2.#.#
I guess the bottom line question is: Where will this update through Kies put me as far as versions go?
Which is the better approach...updating through Kies or waiting for T-mobile to push the updates?
Any insight would be most appreciated!
FYI - my daughter got her S2 two weeks ago and it came with Ice Cream.
