Gingerbread coming to the Inspire by Summer?

So HTCSource posted this article about gingerbread coming to "desire family" devices. Inspire is a clone of Desire HD (clearly), so does this mean our little Inspire family will have gingerbreads to play with during the summer!?!?

hopefully! but who knows with at&t... my boyfriend's captivate is still waiting the 2.2 update.

I'm gonna say yea. At&t will give us this download because HTC won't allow its high end device to not be updated

2.4 and 2.3 are both gingerbread. It was reported that google will be splitting it and keeping the name.

2.4 is just backwards compatibility for dual core apps and seeing as how those are few and far between, It won't bring much to the table .. initially that is.

Not much from what I gathered. A slight overhaul with the UI, some power management improvements and basically a few more tweaks under the hood that allows Android to be more efficient.
