Google Voice not showing contact's name

I got a text this morning and didn't realize it was via my GV number at first. It showed it coming from a 202 number but showed a 240 number preceding each text. I guess I should've realized that was GV, but that's not the problem. I had no idea who it was and when I found out I thought maybe I didn't have his cell in my contacts. I checked and I did have it. So why wouldn't it show his name? This is native SMS on a Droid Razr Maxx. I checked my GV app on my iPad earlier and it only showed the number as well. Right now I checked my Android GV app and the name is showing now. It's just native text messaging, which I use solely, which isn't showing a name.
