Google's 2016 smartphones are rumored to be called the Pixel and Pixel XL

Android Police says they have talked to two different sources and both are telling them the names of the upcoming smartphones.

If true, then the smaller device will be called the Google Pixel, while the larger one will be called the Google Pixel XL.

Pixel is such a dull brand name that I hope it's not true. Though the more important question is whether it implies a change to the philosophy of the devices and their software.
