Hm,I m fairly new to GPS technology.
I ve downloaded some GPS test apps and the like and it works fine.
Why cant I use it for navigation?
My preinstalled WisePilot app has expired.
Still it took it too long to find "service".
Apart from that google maps needs Wifi or 3G internet all the time to function, right?
So,thats it? No GPS without internet on the phone?
Any alternatives to Wisepilot software?

*Free* alternatives (at least, better than Navigation), I don't believe you'll find!
And yes, for Google Maps you need to have an internet connection. For Google Navigation, you need an internet connection because the paths are calculated remotely (on Google Servers).

I've never tried (since I have an internet data plan), but I've heard that if you calculate the route in a place with where you have wi-fi (say, for instance, your home) and then start your driving, it will work (without internet). But I guess as soon as you don't respect the determined route (this is, re-routing) it will stop...

But give it a try!

Anyway, for now, I'm happy with Navigation from Google.

Tried OfflineMaps.
Paid for the Athens map and it was completely useless.
Based on open sourse maps on the net,the detail was rediculous.
They gave back my money via Paypal.
The whole thing wasnt about 1.5€,it was about usabillity.
Or to be precise, the total lack of it.
They were trully professionals though and I respect that.

iGo is 11.5MB.Does it work so good?
I m installing this as we speak...

Did not have the space problem (even if my mem is low). And the maps I needed, I found for free :) Just knew where to search.
I got iGo as well.Just doesnt install.
Maybe you can help via a Private Message?
It downloads ok,but then doesnt install.
It gives me a Not Sufficient Memory warning even after
uninstalling so many things that I now have 35+MB free on the phone.
