Downgrade to C Firmware for ROOT ACCESS
for the D415 LG T-Mobile variant

UPDATED 03/20/2015

First of all, if you've got the D415 stock, you need to know this very important point:

Do not preform the system update when you receive the phone, otherwise you'll have to follow this guide!

But, for those of us on e firmware, we don't have an exploit since even bnr recovery mode is locked down on e firmware. Onward!

STEP 1

Deal with MegaUpload...Ugh. This is the worst part, and takes forever, you'll need the KDZ...

https://mega.co.nz/#!PUslQLrR!dQ0zR3...SX4Yqd0lMOo1Uk

STEP 2

Ge the LG Flash Tool 2014 toolkit
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797190

STEP 3
Install B2CAppSetup.exe as administrator.
http://tool.xcdn.gdms.lge.com/client/app/B2CAppSetup.exe

STEP 4
Close it.

STEP 5
Run notepad as administrator. In C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc there is a file called hosts. Inside notepad open it and add this line:

Code:
127.0.0.1 csmg.lgmobile.com

Save and close. Disconnect and reconnect to the internet.

Reboot.

STEP 6
Run shttps as Administrator.

Run windows enabler.exe as administrator and click the tray icon so you see the word "On".

If you receive an error about your update only working wireless when you try the next step, you must disable WLAN Updates from the programming menu:

WIRELESS FIX

With your phone powered ON:

Dial 3845#*415#.
System programming menu pops up.
Tap WLAN Test.
DISABLE OTA update.
DISABLE any wireless update options.

STEP 7
With phone powered off, Volume Up + Power. This gets you into Download mode. Then connect your USB cable, and run the LG Flash Tool 2014 to execute the flash. It starts the LG Support Tool and preforms the flash. You'll see stuff happening in the shttps server window if you've set it up right.

Do not and I repeat do not disconnect the device while it is flashing. You may hard brick.

STEP 8

You'll be bootlooped, either that or Google Play will crash repeatedly, perhaps some apps will force close, etc. So turn the device off. Just hold the power button until it's off. Hold Volume Down + Power, release Power when you see the LG Logo, then press and hold it again. When you reach the factory reset screen, use the volume keys to navigate the menu and reset by having the proper option selected and pressing the Power button. Phone will factory reset. Now you're out of your bootloop and crashing issue. Factory Reset takes care of some of the leftover garbage from your other ROMs.

STEP 9

Complete! You'll want to ignore the system update prompt and immediately root. towelroot works. towelroot is easy to do...no guide needed. Just enable Unknown Sources, instal it from the stock file manager, ignore Lookout's dribble about it being malware, allow it to install, run it, click make it ra1n, and done!

Thanks to all the devs at XDA for making this possible! If ya fark something up it's your fault! I am not responsible! I'm just a guide!

https://mega.co.nz/#!PUslQLrR!dQ0zR3...SX4Yqd0lMOo1Uk

STEP 2

While that is downloading, go ahead and grab my toolkit here...it includes the new LG Flash Tool 2014 and the BCD App Setup, plus the small server you'll need for the tool. Just to let you know the new updated US BCD Tool stops the offline procedure. So the only one that works is the Chinese one...It doesn't have that extra check that the English version has. Extract everything...Install your drivers...

STEP 3
Install BCDAppSetup.exe as administrator.

STEP 4
Execute it with the internet and then close it. It's confusing. All you'll see is a bunch of question marks in the prompts. But it does work... Your KDZ should be done by now...so copy it to the LG Flash Tool 2014 dir.

STEP 5
Run notepad as administrator. In C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc there is a file called hosts. Inside notepad open it and add this line:

Code:
127.0.0.1 csmg.lgmobile.com

Save and close. Disconnect and reconnect to the internet. Run the small server shttps.exe as administrator.

STEP 6

Run windows enabler.exe as administrator and click the tray icon so you see the word "On".

STEP 7

Follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/general/guide-flash-stock-kdz-offline-lg-l90-t2803479 Remember, you gotta do this with the phone powered ON, not in download mode. Proper settings are EMERGENCY and 3GQCT, plus your KDZ file, then Normal Flash. After the flash is complete shut down the tool and remove the line from your hosts file.

STEP 8

You'll be bootlooped, either that or Google Play will crash repeatedly. So turn the device off. Just hold the power button until it's off. Hold Volume Down + Power until you see Factory Reset. Press power button TWICE.

Get the official tool from the LG Support website. Then after it updates once via the internet use the Windows Enabler and hosts trick to block it, making sure that the properly configured shttps tool I have provided is running. To debug pull the status window of shttps by right clicking the icon in the task bar and viewing the Message log. When the LG Support tool runs you should see status messages in the Window as well as when the Flash tool is decompressing the KDZ you'll see it copying over to the shttps server via status messages.

If when you run the support tool the shttps server doesn't display the connection messages, you'll need to reboot as most likely the hosts file has not taken effect.
I
Additionally after the app setup updates it stays memory resident. So install it, update it, modify hosts, , reboot and then start shttps and then the LG Flash Tool 2014 in that exact order. Do not run the LG software update by itself afterward otherwise you'll need to reboot again.

Its a specific order.
