My friend has a Droid and was bugging me to root it. I did and now he wants to put Froyo but we can't get it to work. Just endless reboots. Here is what we are doing:

We copy simplystunning4.0 (for froyo) into the nandroid root folder (uncompressed)
we go into sprecovery
select backup/restore
do advance restore
select simplystunning4.0
don't make any changes
run it and says it is done

then restart and get the blue droid eye with the blue nexus boot but that's it. It just keeps restarting endlessly.

I'm new to Droid hacking, I have a Samsung Moment and the Droid stuff is a lot different. Thanks for anything!

If you are using SPRecovery then try this method:

1. Take the ROM you want to install and place it on the root of the sd card.
2. Rename the file to "update"
3. Boot to recovery
4. Scroll to "wipe data/factory reset" and select
5. Scroll down to "yes" and select to wipe the phone.
6. Next scroll to "wipe cache partition" and select.
7. Repeat steps 4-6
8. Scroll to "install" and select
9. Scroll to "allow update.zip installation" and select
10. Scroll to "Install /sdcard/update.zip (deprecated)" and select.

After it installs reboot. Hopefully the endless loop will cease, if not I suggest trying another ROM using the same process. Hope this helps. :)
