Help Hero slower than a HTC Magic

my father's got a htc magic, and ive got a hero.
we often compare them, we like electronics. and what i notice is how incredible the difference is when it comes to speed. in menus, texting, flicking to the next image/screen.
you'd think hero > magic, right? no way. my hero is so much slower than his. like, really slow.

is it because i have a 16gb sdcard? class2 i think

What firmware is the Hero running? Check Settings-Menu-About phone-Build number, and if it's not 2.73.xxx.xx check with HTC and/or your carrier for an update.

its in norwegian to me, and i think i found it. cause its directly translated from build number. but it says:

3.32.405.1 CL191507 release-keys

How does the speed compare to when it was running 1.5? Most people say it seems to speed up a bit.

The first 10-15 minutes i thought i was golden. It was really swift and seemless.
After that, just as bad as 1.5.

I've heard that the Hero gets slower the bigger the memory card is.
Myth or fact?
if fact, that might be it. I'm using my hero as a mp3 player, so i have a 16gb memory card.

I haven't heard that, but sd cards are rated for speed. It's possible your comparing different class cards.

(Class 2 < Class 4 < Class 6 and so on).
