Help Hide widgets?

I'm sure there has to be a way to do this, I installed fancy widgets for the unlock animations, but sadly they only work when using their widget. I really like the clean look of the minimalistic weather widget, but I still like the weather animations. Does anybody know of a way to have a widget on screen but hidden?
