Help How long should an OTA update take?

I kicked off an updated from my settings screen and it's been saying "comminicating with server" for a half hour now. How long should it take? Is it stuck?

I gave up after an hour and a half of waiting. Is there a reason why it's not connecting? I've got JuiceDefender, that wouldn't shut anything down when it's being used, would it? When I turned the screen back on to check it occasionally, I never saw the red icon for JD that indicates it's shut down network access.
