How many Epic Exchanges till U found a good one?

Update--the wife exchanged her phone for #3 on Saturday (#1 bricked and #2 had unresponsive back button). So far, this one seems fine.

On my second now, but about to exchange it again.

#1 had battery issues, speaker/headphone issue and locking the phone issues.
#2 the phone workes perfectly now. But this one has a loose slider! WTF!

so #3 will be comming in the next few days.

On my third now.

1 - Bad capacitive buttons
2 - Loose slider (even when closed)
3 - Seems okay...slider's a tiny bit loose but not bad enough to annoy me.

I"m on my third as well!

1-back button was not working

2-when talking to people, I would hear a rattle and the only way it would go away was to put the volume at lowest, not cool! Also, slider felt loose!

3- no problems as of it!

just returned my epic to the shack...took it back twice...first was speaker issue,second was the loose keyboard, and the last was because of the battery and keyboard..
when i asked the guy to swap it out one more time he mentioned that he could'nt do it anymore, i spoke to the manager he said the same thing. so i said give me a refund..they did,but now i cant buy another phone because i have no 150$ upgrade on my account...what gives?..i thought it would go back if i returned it...anybody returned a phone and received the upgrade back?

I'm beginning to think all Epics have some sort of problem. Are they cheaply made? I'm on #5 and every one had some sort of physical cosmetic defect.

Still on my first one that I powered on for the first time on September 5. But hindsight being 20/20, would have liked to try an exchange.

Got mine on wirefly for $199 with no mail in rebates to mess with. Ported my number from AT&T and because AT&T intentionally drug its feet, even though I ordered my epic 4G on August 31, AT&T did not release my number until midnight on September 4, so I could not even start testing the phone until then.

Slider/Screen is a bit loose but I knew I had 30 days to exchange. I went to a few Spring stores and found they were all loose. Waited another week, my wife went to a Sprint store and came home and reported that their Epics were rock solid and the screen did not jigggle like mine when the keyboard was open.

Decided to return for exchange, still within 30 days, until I noticed a fine print thing with wirefly - you have to request a return authorization number(RAN) within 14 days of purchase date (for me, August 31) or you can't return. So I missed my chance and didn't even realize it until it was too late. Luckily, all functions on my phone run great, but the lack of tightness is super annoying....

I suspect they will all loosen up to the state mine is in, if not worse. I have now seen people in the Sprint stores bring theirs back that received a rock solid one that became loose after about 3-4 weeks.

Still really like the phone. Price through wirefly was great, just need to recognize the limitations of a wifefly type situation. I really only had a week to test my phone had I realized the 14 day limitation to request the RAN.

I'm on #2 and it's pretty sound. My 1st one had issues w/freezing & locking up on me. I replaced it after 2 weeks. I've had this one for over 2 weeks and have had no problems.

Had mine for nearly two weeks, no complaints so far. New to Sprint and Android too.

Both the Epic and Evo I bought via Craigslist are fine. I just think that if you're picky enough, you'll find something to be unhappy about and exchange. This is true with any cellphone product.
