Assumptions and unsubstantiated numbers aside, growing up with a religious background was enough to open my eyes to what I perceive as severe flaws in religion, to inspire me to go out and learn more about mine and others, and religion as a whole.

Because if they're correct, they live a happier, perhaps more sinless and less dangerous life and go to Heaven.

If they're incorrect and it's bunk, the live a happier, perhaps less dangerous life.

It's a no-lose proposition.

Ah, Pascal's Wager. It fails to leave out a very small point that with the sheer number of religions in the world, the chance the Christianity is the "correct" one is slim to none.
