So before root I would go to work and come home with around 70% with usage. I get a 20 minute break every hour and I use it basically every break. And service sucks in our break room. So with texting, videos, Facebook and internet that is good. But for the first few days of root with BB 0.4 with p3 kernel I'm at 50% or less with way less usage. Even with my screen set on low. I thought it was suppose to be better. I'm guessing I should try a different kernel. If you've have battery problems did u switch kernels? Or just the ghz? Which worked better? I'm thinking of going to p3's 1.2 or trying Chevy's.

try a different kernel is all I can suggest, going up in speed goes down in battery life so either flash a slower kernel or turn it down in SetCPU, BB is set to max whatever the kernel is so if you put on a 1.2ghz it will be @ that all the time if you dont have a CPU app.

Chevy also has ULV kernels that I have used with alot of success, but some people cant run them. Also, IMO, unless you are doing some crazy shit, there is no reason to really run faster then 800mhz on Froyo. Dont get me wrong its cool and I run @ 1.0 all the time :), but if you are looking for battery life clock down to 800, make some profiles in SetCPU to help you out with what its doing when your not using the phone, and find the right kernel.

On Froyo I've gotten much much better battery life, with the right kernel. I don't know what plays best with BB, you may have to experiment, but the kernel makes a huge difference.

Actually, bb is set to performance on demand, not max. Some don't use set cpu at all with this rom.

Try chevy ulv 1.1works great for me

At digdug1: not to be rude but did u even read my OP. Well I switched to Chevy's lv 1.1. And seem to be working better on first day of use. We will see how the week goes. Also so I guess I don't have to waste money on setcpu?

i've been on the quest for battery optimization as well. I just purchased setcpu for the ability to set the cpu at 250mhz whenever the screen is off. This seemed to give me better battery life. I am at 10 hrs of idle and my battery level is between 80 - 90 percent. Closer to 90 if my juice plotter is correct. I'm also using juice defender though so i can't say how much the savings are directly from a forced down clock on the cpu. im running bb.4, p3 1ghz kernel.
