Root HTC Evo logo on boot

So, I'm attempting to create a custom bootscreen for my EVO, and was trying to find out if anyone knew how to get a copy of the initial "htc EVO" logo with white background that comes up? I've gone through the file system a few times, but haven't managed to find anything in there. Is it hard coded into the phone itself somewhere magically? Any help would be great.

I believe it is the file splash1.nb0 located on the phone, but unfortunately, I still can't find a a way to unpack/open the nb0 file...
