I have not upgraded to ICS yet, because I am not looking forward to all that bloatware again. (Gingerbread is rooted).

With Gingerbread I was able to just root the stock OS without adding all the cool stuff that everyone has added to the OSes.

Has anyone come out with a root procedure for ICS? I don't need to add cool stuff, I just want to be able to remove the bloat.

Not sure if you already got this figured out, but the rooting process is pretty much identical. Once you are on full stock ICS, just ODIN CWM recovery (you can use the same one as what was available for Gingerbread) and then flash something like Superuser or SuperSU - that should do the trick.
