Root ideas please?

Hi, i717, rogers phone, canada, followed the tutorial for rooting an ICS i717.
My prob is i cannot get to the CWM screen after the Odin flash, I've rebooted when directed to and get a system recovery screen. I dont get the CWM screen so cannot install Superuser. Any ideas?

By the way, the reason i really wanted to do the root was so i could use my otg cable and utilize the thumb drive.
