That sucks sounds like you got a bad phone if your battery is overheating like that

Bad phone is bad phone. That would probably explain the screen discoloration if the battery is getting lava hot.

I see alot is physical issues with this phone. I'm trying to figure out if its just the law of averages since this is such a popular phone, or if the build quality is really there.

I bet that it is just a defective phone, take it in to Verizon or call CSR. You will get a new phone...

My battery has gotten hot before, above 122F. It has only happened once. I find that it is because of an second party APP. Hasn't happened since I have used that APP though.

I would be concerned about the Yellow area in the screen, did it go away? Or is it permanent?

Plugged in I ran my phone for 4 hours today streaming pandora and using navigation. It never got more than mildly warm.

If you root, there's an app that you can set to slow down cpu speed.. cools the phone.

My phone has the yellowish tint all the way down the right side as well, so i feel your pain. Are you going to take your phone in? I am debating what to do..
